I am back from a short running hiatus, this is how I feel after a short 3 miles…can you see the drip of sweat on my lip!? Sheesh
After getting pretty sick and run down last week I think I pulled out every excuse in the book to avoid working out. I was at my parents house (my marathon runner mom will tell you this is NOT really a valid excuse!). late soccer games. Brent getting up earlier than usual. Muggy weather. Rainy weather. Didn’t want to shower again that day (seriously…). Didn’t want to shower after a massage because I like the oil to soak in…. You get the picture!
I was going to complain that I was SOOOO slow, but really it was not too long ago that I was thrilled to do 3 miles in 11:30 min/mile pace. So yes, it was rough. My stomach was not too thrilled with all the bumping apparently so that was one of the biggest issues. It is done, now I can get on with training for the darn marathon!
I can’t seem to pace myself when I start so the difference between mile 1 and mile 3 was almost 3 mins today! I am going to start working really hard on pacing myself and not necessarily going faster.
On a different note! Less than 30 days till the wedding. Both Brent and I have lost some weight this year so I am excited about getting all fancied up. I get to see him in his kilt with all the accessories…I think I am more excited than he is about seeing me in my dress! I have been working on things and spending lots of money for awhile now so let the count down begin!

The real reason I ran today!!
1/2 of nothing!
I went 13.25 WHOLE miles this morning. It was hot too. It was also fun and friendly and exciting and frustrating and tiring. I thought 2:40 was a pretty easy goal but I just barely made it!! Still 20 mins off the last 1/2 marathon I did. And I know the next one will be even better!
I am taking a week off and then jumping back into training for the full in October!!!

But my dog ate my training plan!! Good thing the 1/2 is only 4 days away. I think I can wing it! ;)
At least I don’t have to buy expensive dog toys! I just have to sweep up!!

10 miles
I just did my first double digit run today! It went awesome so I am excited about the 1/2 next weekend. 7 days!!! I honestly can’t believe my body can do that, if you had told me that in January I would have laughed at you!
I am working all weekend, but I am lucky enough to get to work from home so I get stuff done! Fun stuff like laundry and dishes! :p

oh and I am still looking forward to stepping back after the 1/2 tho! 6 miles will feel like a breeze!
9 miles. It ain’t pretty but it is done. Went better than my 8 miler two weeks ago. Do you get the feeling I wear the same outfit?
Proof my hair gets styled once every 8 weeks!
Counting down to my half marathon, starting to get a little bit skeered. 9 miles this weekend, 10 the next and then the bit 1-3-.-1!!
Things are starting to get BUSY with work, running, wedding, house, dogs and all that good stuff! Bleh!

What happens when you leave your gummy vitamins in the car on a sunny day. :(
wild weekend
Away from home for all of it! :-(
Made about 100 bucks and hung out with the family at a HUGE garage sale that was mostly my uncle’s stuff (everyone else brought a bit they had).
Then snuck over to Central Oregon, kidnapped my mom and ran a 10k. First 10k for me…PR’ed it! :D My “A” goal was 1:12, my “B” goal was 1:15. Finished in 1:14. It was the first WARM (HOT when running) day we have had since…oh…last August! They didn’t have an aid station until have 4 miles. :-( Also was a very hilly, turny course. Overall I am pleased with my time and happy that I made the time to do it!
Home at last to a cooking hubby (almost hubby, for sure cooking!) and some hot dogs (he isn’t cooking hot dogs, our pups think it is warm too!)!
Dinner is almost done so I think I will belly up to the table!
